Synopsis and Synthesis of T-44 Course Rules:                                    18 February 1997

NAS CORPUS CHRISTI (TRUAX FIELD)
 

 * Arresting gear on 13R/31L and 17/35
 * Break at 1000', 170K
 * Pattern at 800'
 * Delta Pattern at 2000'
 * Break Interval:  30 dg aft of wing behind full stop, 15 dg aft of wing behind T-34 touch and  go, 15 dg ahead following T-44 touch and go.
 * Waveoffs are pattern side at 500'
 * Local Flying area 125 NM radius, excluding 50 NM of San Antonio.
     * Contact Ground Control when clear of active rnwy when inbound.
 * Align aircraft with duty rnwy in runup.
 
Takeoff and Departure:
 * When field is VFR all departing acft remail below 500' until end of rnwy,  then climb on rnwy heading to 1500' prior to turnout. Unless otherwise directed by ATC.
 * While in VFR Course Rules Climbs =150K, Level=170K
 
Seagull Departures:
 * Contact Corpus Departure Control ch 8, when cleared to swith by tower    
Point Sunrise Departures to NALF Cabaniss (T-44 Touch and Go Town):
 * Squawk 5570  
Portland Departures:
 * request with tower
 * seldom used but quick to area D
  Portland to Area Central Seagull:   climb through 4500' passing through 3500' switch Corpus Approach (ch 18)
 

Area Entry From NASCC:
* Seagull Areas are North, Central and South
* Seagull Further Divided into Blocks
 1 = surface to 3000'
 2 =   4000 to 6000'
 3 =   7000 to 9000'
 4 = 10,000 to 12, 000'
 5 = 13,000 to 15,000'
 6 = 16,000 to 17,999'

* Squawk, first two digits 52, third North=0, Central=1, South=2, Fourth Digit=block #

 North: 
      From THX (three rivers vortac) 100R or CRP 065R South to CRP 100R.  5 Miles
      Seaward ( 030R from CRP 120@25 RNAV) to 55 miles DME from the CRP  VORTAC (ie. about 30 miles wide)

 Central:
    CRP 100R south to CRP 130R.  5-miles Seaward (030 and 195R from CRP 120@25  RNAV)  to 55 mile DME.  South: 
   CRP 130 to CRP 156R.  5-miles (195R from CRP 120@25 RNAV)  to 55 DME. Juliett Area:  Seldom used, look it up.

Foxtrot Area:  Seldom used, look it up.

Delta Area:
    Slightly more than seldom used but worth mention. Look it up too.
    Note:  Most of the time a Delta entry is done in conjuction with a Portland Departure.
 

Recovery to NASCC:
* all arrivals shall use Pt. Shamrock or Pt. Sunrise as VFR entry point.
* terminate with Corpus Approach (ch8)  and switch to Navy Corpus Tower (ch4) and  appropriate VFR entry point.
 

 

Rockport/ A-County Airport:
*Open for military Touch and Go with RDO and crash crew.
*Served by Unicom ch 20.  Obtain advisories prior to entry.
*If touch and go open no practice approaches allowed.
*If Unicom unmanned try Approach ch 17.
*T-44 arrivals normally made from an instrument approach.
*Max acft in the pattern=5.

Runways:
  9/27:  4500/150'
 18/36:  4500/150'
 14,32:  5600/150'

Note:  This airport is almost exclusively used by T-34 for Touch and go.
 
 

NALF Cabaniss:
*Field elevation 30' msl.
*Max aircraft in pattern is 5.
*Delta pattern at 2000'
*Waveoffs to pattern side of rwy at 500'.
*Traffic Patterns Possible with CCI rwys 31 and 35.
*Noise abatement:  rwy 13 Act shall not fly lower than 800' over Saratoga Rd.
*Threshold of 17 displaced 500'.
*Both rwys equipped with variable intensity lights.
*Lighted wind tee adjacent to tower .  Not beacon or taxi lights

Runways:
 13/31:   5000/150'
